The rear driver's side door has a bad sensor. It does not recognize the door as being closed unless the door is opened/closed numerous times, sometimes it will not ever recognize the closure.

Had a door ajar fault(driver door). Opened and closed door several times, would not go out. You can not lock the doors when this happens. This fault occurs each time we drive the vehicle.

The car lost power. When I turned it off and turned it back on, it started and ran fine. It happened again and I took it to the local Ford dealership. The quick service technician said it sounded like the throttle body. It has happened a couple of other times sporadically. It happened 4 times this past Saturday. I took it to the dealership and just found out it was the throttle body, which will be replaced for $622.59. My car is no longer under warranty and there are no recalls for this that the dealership can find. Though repair pal indicates there was a recall (https://repairpal.com/Ford-Edge-recall-10V659000) and the North Carolina consumer council has filed a petition for an investigation into this matter. Please investigate this as it is extremely dangerous for your car to just completely shut down on you while you are driving. Fortunately, no one has been hurt any of the times this has happened to me. Had I been on the interstate, I am not sure I could say the same.

My door ajar light keeps coming on when my driver side door is clearly shut. Looked up multiple forums and found other people with the same problem. Why hasn't there been a recall? I shouldn't have to pay $400 for this fix!

On the driver's door only, the door ajar notification remains on even after the door is securely shut. The door will not lock with that notification on and the interior lights do not want to go out either. Also, when the car is off and the doors are locked, this, what seems like an electrical shortage, causes the auxiliary lights come on and off and it causes the battery to die over time. This has been the case since the car was purchased in 2012.

While driving the vehicle on the highway, the "driver door ajar" light appeared on the dash display while the driver door was fully/properly closed and all fours locked. The "driver door ajar" light remained on for a distance before the interior dome lights turned on, and the driver door popped partially open on its own which resulted in all doors to unlock posing a safety risk to the child passengers in the back seat and the driver. The "driver door ajar" light is constantly on, which in turn keeps the interior dome lights on and prevents the doors from locking and the alarm from arming. This issue is present at all times, while operating/driving and while the vehicle is turned off/parked which in turn causes added strain on the battery and electrical systems. The local Ford dealer/service department as well as Ford customer relations have been notified several times and refuses to investigate/inspect, unless they are paid a very expensive "fee".

Door ajar light will not go off. Car thinks drivers door is open, which makes it unable to lock and lights stay on in vehicle. I have already had to replace the battery once due to this.

Drivers side door ajar light is on and does not go out even when the door is closed. This causes the doors not to lock causing a safety concern while operating the vehicle. When parked the interior lights remain lit which causes the battery to be drained and the car will not start.

On July 19th, 2011 while driving South bound on folly road in charleston, SC I was slowing down towards the intersection w/ fort johnson road. I was traveling approximately 30mph when I heard a very large pop or explosion like sound. After a second or two, I noticed shards of glass falling off the roof over the back window. I pulled over into a lot and found the rear most fixed glass roof panel (of the panoramic vista roof) had completely shattered. The local Ford dealership indicated that Ford will not treat this as a warranty covered item. The vehicle was brand new, bought only 4 days prior to the incident. I have formally submitted a complaint with Ford and am supposed to receive a response in 15 days. I had no choice but to file an insurance claim in the meantime - the vehicle can not be driven and needs to be fixed. This has apparently happened in other panoramic vista roofs from Ford, and just like in this case it happened spontaneously and without any impact from any object.
