About a year and a half ago I had a problem in which my headlights and highbeams would turn on but then shut off. If you turned them off and back on, they would come on but go out again. I paid to fix this problem. It's now happening again. It'll be the second time in two years with the same issue. I've searched online and others with the same year car are having the same exact problem. There's no recall listed on this but it's a safety issue that keeps happening. The date of the second incident is 12/5/23.

My car will turn on the lights in the middle of the night, without anybody in it. Battery is continuously dead, even after replacing with a new battery. The alternator and starter have been checked and are good. The passenger door ajar is always on. When I lock the car with my key fob it honks twice and the lights inside the car remain on. The car will die while driving it, when I am at a stop light. The engine light will come on and the only warning that appears is passenger door ajar. Other Ford vehicles have a recall for these horrible issues and my vehicle should be as well. This is a major issue caused by Ford. Period. There is no specific date for this issue, it happens every single day since I have owned this 2011 Ford Edge SE FWD

My car is a 2011 ford edge sport awd and the brake lights will stay on after using the brakes. It is available for inspection. It is a safety hazard because others around me are not always seeing an accurate signal. I have not taken it in to be looked at yet, i just have been lifting up on the brake pedal after i use the brakes. there is on warning or notifications stating the brake lights are still on.

Driving at night is very dangerous as my headlights are extremely dim (even with new bulbs). The high beams are no better as they don't illuminate the road far enough or bright enough to see objects at night more than 100 feet away. I get anxiety driving at night because I can't see much and this is a problem with Ford Edges of various years with halogen bulbs. Many have had to buy conversion kits to install HID lights because the headlights are so bad. There are several online forums of Edge owners who are very dissatisfied in the quality and safety of the headlights. I believe this is a very serious safety concern and that a recall should be placed on the vehicle. Car owners should not have to spend hundreds of dollars to modify a brand new or used vehicle because the headlights don't illuminate well enough to drive safely.

In 2016 Ford Edge door ajar light will stay on even when the door were locked. In the beginning it was not an issue but than things got worse as for no apparent reason the car alarm would go off on its own at different times of day and night. After pinpointing the problem to the door latch sensor was advised to change the sensor (but since geniuses at Ford decided to incorporate the sensor in the actual door latch with no removable parts) I was forced to change the entire door latch mechanism which cost about $500..I recently received a letter that this was a known issue and a recall now has been ordered...submitted the paperwork for a refund and it was denied (reason car in 2016 had 88,000 miles)...although on the letter it says that if I had the issue now it will be covered up to 120,000...I have called Ford multiple times and also submitted original receipts with chapman Ford in egg harbor twp, NJ...but they said they can not honor any refunds due to mileage (case # Ford gave me is [xxx]) information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

While driving in the city my hazard lights came on automatically and I could not turn them off. This also made my blinkers incapable of being used, a clear safety issue and law offense. My hazard lights continued to turn on and off automatically leaving me with a drained battery. I have researched the recalls and it seems this can be a fire hazard but my car was not on this recall list.

The interior lights are staying on when the ignition is turned off and the car is park position due to a faulty door switch, and this is happening when the door indicator on my instrument panel is showing the door is ajar when it is actually closed, thus creating a safety issue when the car is in motion due to same fault showing up. This is also killing the battery if not noticed in time.

Just purchased a 2011 Ford Edge sel.. the first night I drove at night the halogen headlamps wore very dim. Very low light on either hi or low beam. Replaced with new bulbs. Same thing, headlamps are not bright. Researched on internet. Lot of other people also had this problem. Sounds to me Ford Motor Company very bad lighting system. Can not believe Ford did not have a recall on their lighting system and no one was killed yet do to their defect on the bad lighting with their headlamps with the halogen bulbs! I think they should replace these lamps and recall before someone dies. No accident yet. This is only a complaint before something does happen.

This is a follow up complaint as advised by mary at Ford Motor Company. Ford did issue customer satisfaction program 19N09 refund for the driver side latch, however I had to replace the passenger side latch as well so would like a refund on both latches. Door ajar lights stay on which causes automatic door locks to fail, dome lights to remain on while driving as well as when vehicle is parked and turned off. When driving this causes a safety hazard because anyone can enter the car at a stop sign or light and cause harm to vehicle occupants. Additionally, dome lights stuck on while driving also poses a safety hazard. When vehicle is off and dome lights stay on, this drains the battery as well as fuses. We have had to replace the vehicle battery as well as fuses. We recently had to pay $1144.40 to have the door latches replaced and were told this is a known issue with Ford. I reached out to Ford customer service and was told they have not issued a recall for this problem. Date and mileage may not be accurate as this issue has been happening for many years, however we finally had no choice but to replace the door latches when my husband's wheelchair was stuck in the back because the fuse had blown and the back hatch door would not open.

The headlights are worthless. My Ford dealer adjusted them, my Ford body shop adjusted them, I adjusted them, and you still cant see to drive at night. They are not any good. Why have you allowed this to go on" I wrote to you when I first got the car and got nothing. What the hell ? no side to side adjustment is even provided for in the design, but more than that they don't provide enough light to light up the road. Iv'E put in new bulbs $50 each, I've put in a whole new factory headlight $300 and still can't see the road. Came home from Kansas City last night 70 miles, 35 miles of witch was on interstate 49 and at times we has to guess where the road was. The car is a 2011 where have you been on this? I haven't talked to anyone who owns one of these who isn't fighting the same problem. We try not to drive the dam thing at night, but sometimes we get caught and have to. Are you waiting for us to get killed and we will quit bothering you? do your dam job, make Ford fix this problem! what are you doing about this??"

The driver door ajar light remains on even when the door is closed. This keeps the dome lights on which is hazardous to drive with in the evening. I understand this is an ongoing problem for Ford but they have done nothing to fix it.
