Vehicles Break booster and Master cylinder has an issue and the breaks are stiff with a whistle blowing sound when pressed. And causing a low engine oil sign to pop up and stall out when stopped. This happened while pulling out of a parking lot. The problem was confirmed by a Pep Boys Auto Repair Shop in Federal Way, Washington State. No, insurance has not looked over it, and no I haven't taken it to be inspected by a Ford dealership/manufacturer

I noticed when pressing on the brake pedal it was going to the floor vehicle was not slowing or stopping as it should. I heard a squealing and whistle sound then the check engine light came on. I called the dealership, and they said confirmed the brake booster was internally leaking vacuum causing the check engine light to come on. The brake light is on once again and again the dealership contacted for an appointment. I took the liberty contacting Ford for any recalls and was directed to contact NHTSA and report.

2013 Ford Edge Limited- The vehicle experienced a loss of brake pressure, resulting in the brake pedal sinking to the floorboard before the vehicle finally came to a complete stop nearly resulting in a collision. Vehicle was taken to Midas and the independent mechanic notified the owner that the brake master cylinder was malfunctioning and needed to be replaced immediately.

I have a 2013 ford edge. When I press on the brake sometimes it goes down smoothly and I hear a hissing noise and then the next time I brake it is stiff, hard as a rock and I can barely get the vehicle to stop. This is dangerous! A major safety issue but for some unknown reason my 2013 is not showing a recall. I heard that the brake boosters could be the problem. I was driving home on the freeway from work and there was an accident where traffic had to slow down. As I slowed down by placing my foot on the brakes the tires skid and the ABS light came on as well as the Brake Service light and Service Advance Trac came on. The brakes locked and I avoided an accident by 2 inches. This is hazardous and dangerous.

I took my vehicle to Ford for the brake booster that was issued by Ford. Nothing worked. My brakes would literally go soft and almost to the floor while stopping. It was extremely dangerous and scary. I saw a 2016 recall that replaced the ABS module but my car apparently wasn-??t tagged to it. Finally had to foot the $1500 bill to have the ABS module replaced which seemed to have fixed the issue. Thousands have complained of this same issue so I-??m not sure why a recent recall hadn-??t been issued by Ford.

My brakes are hard to press sometimes hard to stop. Jerky and then hard then soft. I read brake booster master cylinder or hcu All Ford's mistakes. Still no recall. I'm outside of the extended warranty because I just bought this 3 months ago and it's over 10 years old only 115000 miles on it. If I die I'm having my family sue ford. Codes p2 195 and p2 197 are now showing after a week and a half of this problem. Taking it to ford Tuesday. Calling customer service Monday. Shame on ford

About a week ago my brakes on my 2013 Ford Edge Limited became for hard to press. The pedal became stiff. I almost was unable to stop even though I was going extremely slow approaching an intersection that was very busy. I have looked up recalls on this issue with the same description and realize Ford had issued a recall on 2013 Ford Edges however only certain Vin numbers. However, surfing through multiple posts and forums I am finding 100's so far of people that are angry because Ford refused to own up to the fact the all these 2013 Ford Edges are having issues with the Brake Booster which is a major safety issue and should have no cut off period due to the importance of this defective part! I finally wad able to bring my car to the dealer due to the other mechanic's I brought it to are all getting an invalid read when they do the diagnostic test on the car. Now Ford Dealership Jarret Ford in Dade City said it will be $1389. 00 to fix my brake booster. This is highway robbery.

The contact owns a 2013 Ford Edge. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the brake pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to slow as intended. The brake pedal was making a squeaking sound. The contact stated that it was snowing at the time when the failure occurred. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a failed brake booster and that the brake booster needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The contact was informed that the repair was not covered under warranty. The failure mileage was approximately 104,695.

She took it to a local Ford dealer and they stated that it just needed to be updated (computer update I guess). The car worked after that until today. She hit a bump in the road and the brakes went to the floor again when she tried to stop. She has no warning lights that appear. The dealer states that there is no recall for this issue. This is a saftey issue for everyone on the roads.

I was issued a customer satisfaction program #13N02 while replacing brake booster helped, bypassing the fact the master cylinder fluid leaked into brake booster and was not part of repair is just ridiculous. Until master cylinder is repaired, problem will not be resolved! Please remedy by including master cylinder with brake booster 13N02. Purchased 2013 Ford Edge AWD Limited used 12/17 with 68, XXX miles. [XXX] began experiencing brake issues. When trying to stop brake pedal went to floor not slowing/stopping vehicle. Vigorously pumping brake stopped vehicle. Took vehicle to neighborhood shop, was informed of recall 13N02. Contacted Ford National Service center (800) 727-7000, confirmed my car covered by recall. Recall work was performed at Bellevue Ford, 411 116th Ave NE, Bellevue, WA 98004, United States, on September 28, 2020. Recently, [XXX] problems reoccured, this time brake failed and vehicle would not stop at busy Seattle intersection fortunately I wasn-??t stuck/struck by other vehicles. Subsequently I again called Ford National Service center and was informed that recall/replacement parts are only warranted for 24 months. My car is currently in shop (for 3 days so far). It seems that the brake booster that is the recall issue affects the entire braking system and pieces of the diaphragm within replaced brake booster are carried to the master cylinder, thru the brake lines and also affect the antilock computer components. Additionally, the Ford manufactured -??replacement parts-?? are often themselves defective. BRAKES ARE ARGUABLY THE MOST IMPORTANT SAFETY SYSTEM IN A PASSENGER VEHICLE! Obviously Ford has manufactured and is aware/responsible for this un-safe condition. They chose to ignore this situation. It seems Ford only manufactured 129,000 2013 Ford Edges. There are thousands of brake issue complaints listed the internet and many hundreds of Safety issues reported here at NHTSA. PLEASE INVESTIGATE THIS LIFE SAFETY ISSUE.
