On my way into work, I received a check engine light, stating I needed to "check the manual". The car was stuck in gear and would not shift, so it was very slow accelerating. I was able to limp it to the dealership, put into Park, and shut off the car while I filled out the drop-off form. I had to go back and get the mileage, turn the car back on, and shift into reverse to put into the service lane. The car jumped when I tried to put it into reverse. It would barely move back at this point. Then shifted into Drive, another jump from the shifting, and it barely moved into the service lane.
I got a call from the service advisor stating that their technician looked at my car and determined that it needs a new transmission! Keep in mind that I just had this car in for an engine problem that required a rebuild of the top part of the motor. My warranty expires next month, and given the past issues I've had with this vehicle, I feel I have no choice but to buy an extended service plan.
I called the corporate office and inquired about whether this vehicle qualifies for the Lemon Law, and apparently I just missed qualifying by 3 months (needs to be withing 18 months of buying the car). This is ridiculous!
