Escape 3.0L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 108,000 miles

While I was driving the car it died on me. And not just once but a couple of times. Last time it died on me, 2 other guys had to puch of the intersection. I left the car there, came back after a few hours, started it again, worked and drove to the dealer. They checked it out, called me back with an est of 650 dollars!! I ha dit fixed, but experienced the same problem 2 times more. The 2nd time, I paid another 450 dollar and the last time, they replaced the gaskets and I only had to pay for the parts and not the man hours. The most expensive of their problem is that they had to take the enige out to reach the gaskets(it somewhere around the fuel injector orso).

I was really upset that after paying a lot of money 2 times, they finally found it at the 3rd time and wanted to charge me another 450 dollars! I got angry and referred to previous repairs with them and that they we're going to repair the exact same thing. So finally I only had to pay the parts, that was 65 dollars.

Escape XLS V6

This is the 3rd time that I have had this issue with my car. As there are 6 cylinders, I am sure that I am not done replacing coils. Plus, they can cost a lot because the coils in the back can only be reached by taking off part of the top of the motor. I have owned this car for 1 1/2 yrs as I bought it used. DO NOT BUY A USED ESCAPE! I have spent over $3,000 in repairs & new tires since I bought it and I am currently looking @ another $1,000 to do the suspension. It is not worth the hassle & money as these cars have crappy trade in/re-sale values!
