2003 Escape limited 3.0 V6 is diagnosed with a cracked exhaust manifold resulting in leaking exhaust gases. Vehicle mileage is 31,200 and has never been off paved roadways. I think this problem has existed for some time but has never been picked up on by regular maintenance visits to the dealership. My dealer explained that the problem is a common one and obviously should have been a recall item as leaking exhaust gases are very dangerous.
