Escape

The contact owns a 2003 Ford Escape. While turning at low speeds, the brake pedal was depressed and the vehicle shook. In addition, the check engine indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to bob chapman Ford (1255 columbus ave, marysville, oh 43040, (937) 642-0015) where it was diagnosed that the control arm and subframe were fractured and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact stated that the VIN was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 14V165000 (structure). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 121,000.

The contact owns a 2003 Ford Escape. The contact stated that he received a notification for recall NHTSA campaign id number 14V165000 (lower control arm). The vehicle was taken to the dealer and a reinforcement cross-brace was installed. The contact stated that the cross-brace was not working for his vehicle due to the front lower control arms being completely rusted. The manufacturer was notified about the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 122,000.
