Escape Limited 3.0L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 25,000 miles

Ok so I got the recall for the transmission cover and had that fixed. Then I received a recall notice from Ford about reprogramming the transmission. since that has been done, the car has not shifted right. When you go up a hill or at around 20 miles per hour, the car bogs down and seems to lose power before shifting. The shop has had it in twice for over two weeks and have called Ford for help but do not seem to be able to identify the problem, the dealership thinks it is in the program but Ford does not agree. They are supposed to be bringing in a Ford engineer, only after the mechanic told them that it is a leased vehicle and I am about ready to just give it back. The problem is no one seems to know what is going on with it but I have been driving my son's old car while the one I am paying for is sitting in a garage. They did give it back to me to drive (lucky me) while we wait for the ford guy to show up.... hmmm christmas is coming, I wonder which will get here first. the Garage is certainly trying to help but Ford just doesn't seem to want to admit to a problem.

Escape XLT V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 42,000 miles

4 months ago while getting an oil change it was brought to my attention that i had a slow but substantial transmission fluid leak - i took it in to my preferred dealer (at the time) and learned that a cooling line needed to be replaced. this was under the manufacturer's warranty. fortunately, i thought it wise at the time to purchase an extended warranty. fortunate because about 6,000 miles outside of the manufacturer's warranty, my transmission began squeaking very quietly for only a second or two while accelerating to 42 mph. my preferred dealer did not resolve the noise, and instructed me to come back in 5 days when they could provide me with a rental car. during those 5 days while driving to work on the highway, the rpms dropped to about 1500 while going a steady 75 and the car started to vibrate fairly violently. i took my car to my newest preferred dealer and they could not resolve the issue without getting in touch with Ford's service line (3 days!!!). apparently, there have been several transmissions experiencing problems and my transmission is now completely out of my car while new gears and a catalytic converter are being installed. this is a brand new car and it has been serviced per the manufacturers recommendation. why is the transmission dying so young? anyone else having similar issues?
