I bought used and got it in September. Sometimes when starting off you can feel the transmission slip. I do have a warranty on it so pray I won't have to pay anything.

Escape XLS 2.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 5,000 miles

While downshifting from 2nd to 1st gear. Transmission/drivetrain would intermittently clunk down into gear. Normal transmission fluid color and level. Returned to dealer. Dealer reported nothing was wrong after a road test. 1 week later same occurrence. Checked transmission fluid, no changes. Drained and refilled transmission fluid. No abnormalities noted. Returned to dealer. Dealer reported that due to two different drivers the computer module was required to be reset to "re-learn" how to drive and the computer had an update that was required to be installed. No further issues after repairs. All covered under warranty.

Escape 4 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 28,000 miles

Does anyone ever read these complaints?? This has happened every day since we bought this car. We should have taken it back the day we took it off the lot. The transmission always chuggs when slowing down and going from second to first......piece of crap. $25,000.00 piece of crap.
