Escape 1.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 130,000 miles

I'd hear a bumping metal on metal sound up front when going over big bumps or breaking hard. It began to rattle pretty badly when driving like normal. I replaced both lower control arms and it fixed the issues. The ball joints were f*cked....

The left side lower control arm still squeaks but that's an unrelated issue. Yippee!!

Escape SE 1.6L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 150 miles

When driving over a recess in the road such as a manhole or pothole there is a thumping noise in the rear. Dealer took a new escape from the lot and it did the same thing. Ford should look into this.
