Escape SE 1.5L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 5,500 miles

Bought this brand new in 07/19. I've taken it twice to dealer and they say it shifts like every other Escape, although ours did not shift like this until 5500 miles. We are still having the issue when the transmission is coming up to operating temperature. Once up to temperature, it shifts correctly. It should not function like this and we are concerned about premature transmission wear due to it banging into gears. We also asked them to replace a piece of deformed interior trim. They did but with another deformed piece of trim.

Quality control at Ford Motor Company and this dealership appear poor at best. I'm taking it to another dealer. This dealership can't replace plastic trim properly, so surely I can't expect them to be able to fix a transmission. It is a good thing we have a reliable 2003 Chevy Malibu we can rely on as a backup.

Escape SE 1.5L-Liter Ecoboost I-4

  • Automatic transmission
  • 1,959 miles

On three occasions now, the transmission has jumped hard around 2800 to 3100 RPM's, up and down. I took it to the dealer and they could not reproduce the issue. I had two Ford Focus vehicles prior to this Escape and they had similar issues but worse. In the 2016 Focus, the dealer replaced the transmission. Has anyone else experienced this issue? The dealer said this is the first they heard of this on a 2019 Escape.
