Escape SEL

It is very uncomfortable to feel that hump against your tailbone. I keep slouching forward so I don't sit against it. This should be part of a recall. I will contact my dealership to see if there is a solution.

Escape SE 1.5L

I took out a new 2020 Ford Escape SEL and was really uncomfortable for the whole test drive. I kept feeling the seat to try to figure out what was sticking into me. I tried adjusting the seat position and could not find a setting that helped. I returned to the dealership and told the salesman. We checked several Escapes on the lot and they all had the same defect. We looked at several Escape trim options I really loved everything else about the Escape but could not buy it.

The dealer contacted an upholstery shop and they said they could fix it for $150 per seat. I could not imagine spending $300 on a brand new vehicle to have the seats torn apart, not knowing what function the part sticking up served, and whether removing it or moving it could affect safety.

I decided to stick with my Mazda.
