Escape Hybrid Limited 2.5L

Why was the regular Escape model recalled, but not the Hybrid model? I thought most the parts (with exception to the EV motor) are the same?

i was driving on highway with my family at the speed of 50+ suddenly I found my car steering locked down and it was very hard for me to turn. Completely hydraulic system was failed. luckily were safe that day. since that day trying to reach ford dealer for repair against repair but they are saying there is a recall but my vin is not included. the steering motor is $1500 only and replacement charges are separate. i don't know what to do? Car value is not equal to that part replacement.

I have been quoted start of $1850.00 from the Ford dealership for the steering column replacement,.Harder to turn than a car without any power steering at all. Keep seeing other comments about this problem. Ford doesn't have a recall or a fix for this year. I have higher miles due to excessive cross country type driving, but this is a scary situation regardless as you lose ease of steering wheel. I must have it fixed. High hopes that I can find a better price at a reputable garage. I still can't believe there is no ability to add steering fluid to this vehicle, maybe they should have realized that it would possibly cause problems.
