I WANT TO ADVICE TO THOSE PEOPLE WHO HAVE AN ESCORT 2.0L TO SELL IT ASAP. THEY HAVE A PROBLEM ON THE CYLINDER HEAD. I FIXED MY CAR TWICE BETWEEN JULY 2007 AND SEPT 2007 FOR THE SAME PROBLEM. THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE VALVE SEAT. THEY SEPARATE EASY FROM THE CYLINDER HEAD. YOU CAN HEAR A NOISE TYPICAL TO THE LIFTER NOISE. BUT IT IS NOT THE LIFTERS; IT IS THE VALVE SEAT STARTING SEPARATE. THIS IS A COMMON PROBLEMS ON ESCORT 1.9L AND 2.0L. ANOTHER PROBLEM IT IS THE SLUDGE ON THE ENGINE OIL. IT DON'T MATTER IF YOU USED THE MOTORCRAFT OIL OR ANY OTHER BRAND; THE OIL TURN BLACK SO QUICK IN LESS THAN 3 MONTHS.
THE NOISE STARTS ON THE CYLINDER #4. WHEN THE NOISE GETS WORSE YOUR CHECK ENGINE LIGHT TURNS ON AND THE ENGINE FAIL WORKING IN 3 CYL.
IF YOU CAN STOP AND FIX IT QUICKLY YOU DON'T NEED TO WORRY ABOUT IT. THAT HAPPEN ON MY FIRST TIME. THE MACHINE SHOP DO A GOOD JOB. 2 MONTHS LATER I HAVE THE SAME PROBLEM BUT THIS TIME THE SEAT SEPARATE SO QUICK THAT I DON'T HAVE TIME TO STOP AND MESS MY PISTONS. I REMOVED THE HEAD AND FOUND THE PISTONS #2 & 3 DAMAGED. THE CYLINDER HEAD CAN BE FIXED. THAT MEANS ANOTHER $ HUNDREDS.
I FIXED AND PUT A FOR SALE SIGN. THIS IS MY SECOND ESCORT AND MY LAST ONE. THE FIRST ESCORT NEVER HAD A PROBLEM BUT STILL IS A FORD A PIECE OF SH*T.
FOR SOME ECONOMY REASONS I BOUGHT THE ESCORTS. I ALWAYS HAD HONDA'S AND NEVER HAD A PROBLEM WITH THEM. NOW THAT I AM WELL ECONOMICALLY I'M GOING TO BUY ANOTHER HONDA.
PLEASE !!!!!! SELL YOUR ESCORT A.S.A.P BEFORE YOU SPEND HUNDREDS OF DOLLARS.
