Expedition XLT 5.4L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 100,000 miles

My air suspension started going out a couple of months ago. When idle or parked, the rear would drop down. Took it to a mechanic and had two options: A. Replace the air pumps for $500 to have them more than likely go out again...or B. Convert to coil springs and do away with the air ride for $685 and have no further problems. I had them covert and so far, so good. The mechanic said that he sees this pretty regularly and that Expedition's air ride is crap.
