Expedition 5.4L

  • Automatic transmission

One day I took my Expedition to the car wash. Later that night the accelerator got stuck to the floor causing the truck to run out of the control on the highway. I was very close to other cars when this happened I have to admitt I panic almost hitting a few cars . I rode the brakes hard to avoid hitting other cars, causing the brakes to heat up and smoke in a very few seconds that felt like minutes. I tryed to free the gas pedal with no luck. I then turned the truck off and coasted to the shoulder . My experience as a truck driver saved my life. I always thought to myself, what I would do in a situation if this ever happened to me.

The next day I found out what the problem was. When I took the truck to the car wash,They took the floor mats to vacume the floors. Remind you I have the factory rubber floor mats from Ford. The car wash did not hook the mats to the hook on the floor that secure them from sliding forward .The mats slid forward and got jammed the gas pedal to the floor. This has happened to me once and to my wife once with kids in the back.

Pay very close attention to this. What seemed like a minor detail, it may save your life.Told Ford about what happened and they did not care at all, of the hazard .Throw the mats away ! Fords suck !!!!
