Metal corrosion on the back liftgate is allowing water to leech into the electrical connections to the back camera, causing it to intermittently not work leading to complete failure eventually. The service techs at the ford dealership have described this common problem with this year model expeditions and is due to a chemical problem either with the metal or factory paint or both. Corrosion is not due to rust. We bought the car new in late 2011.

I was involved in a traffic collision today, May 15, 2015, going southbound the speed of 45mph on a city street in rancho cucamonga ca. Another car going westbound didn't wait at stop sign, went through the intersection, I slammed on the brakes and turned wheel to the right to avoid hitting her but we collided, I was spun around, she ended up in the front yard the house on the corner. The front of my vehicle hit the front fender and front door of the passenger side of her vehicle. Only 1 airbag deployed in my vehicle, the passenger side, with no passenger sitting there. My vehicle has several other airbags that did not deploy, even though the whole front end was smashed. Also, the one airbag that did deploy caught on fire, and filled the interior of the truck with a burning white smoke, not powder. It was a very strong burning smell that I inhaled a lot of. Not sure why only the one airbag deployed and all the others didn't"?? please help me in getting to the bottom of this. Should other vehicles like mine be recalled? I have to say, although I was not severely injured, it would have been way better if my safety restraint system would have worked the way it was intended. Have there been other instances like mine? what should Ford Motor Company do for me? what do I do next" please help me. Thank you, [xxx] ## VIN passed ## Ford, Expedition, 2012 ## information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

I just bought this vehicle used. The paint on the tailgate of my truck has bubbled up in several locations and started to peel. After talking to the local dealership and the manufacturer, they stated that it's a cosmetic problem, not covered by the corrosion warranty. After much research, I have realized that this is a very common problem. I owned a similar make and model that was 9 years older and thought it was a limited issue. Unfortunately, the manufacturer knows they have an issue, but refuse to cover it. The body shop I contacted recommended following up on this because it's a very common problem due to paint not being applied to the aluminum correctly during production.

Paint is bubbling on tailgate. Common problem. Ford dealer knows about it, Ford knows about it. Ford will not repair as there is no metal perforation. Aluminum tailgate is corroding under paint. This should not happen on a 3 -4 year old vehicle.

On looking at the rear tailgate I saw what looked like rust spots ( 4 in all ). the paint is bubbled to the point I think will break soon. When I took it to the dealer today (6/7/16) they said it was a big problem with Ford. The dealer gus johnson Ford spokane, wash said it is a Ford problem and not there's. I feel if I would of be told of this problem I would of never bought any Ford car. I feel this problem was keep from just to make a sale. We are going to look at other cars but surly not Ford

Have rust bubbles on inside bottom of rear lift gate. Took to dealer and was told this is common problem where lift gate was not manufactured properly. For a car less than 5 years old, this should not be rusting.

Recently, the rear tailgate around the lift handle has become corroded and the paint is peeling. I keep the vehicle stored and rarely use it. I keep it in immaculate condition and very well maintained. This is the only blemish on it, but I can see it is getting worse and will eventually need to be repaired and repainted. I understand the is a problem with all Expedition and believe Ford should be responsible for the repair since it appears to be a manufacturing defect.

Paint blisters are starting to appear on rear lift gate where the handle is attached. Dealer has indicated that this is corrosion due to the aluminium material that the lift gate is made of and poor prep work or contamination from the factory paint.

The contact owns a 2012 Ford Expedition. The contact stated that the front passenger side door moved irregularly, making it difficult for passengers to exit the vehicle. The failure recurred numerous times. The contact also stated that while driving 15 mph, the instrument panel and the alert system stated that the door was ajar. The manufacturer was notified and dispatched an inspector. The inspector, who examined the vehicle, determined that there was a gap between the door and the frame, but stated that it was normal. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 3,000 and the current mileage was 12,000.
