As this is an aluminium rear door panel this problem should not exist. It has been known for hundreds of years the problem of dissimilar metals and the chemical action resulting. Ford and all manufacturers need to do much better. No excuse not to cover negligence in engineering, nor honour the warranty.
Update from May 3, 2020: Vehicle purchase from new in 2012 and maintained in accordance with Ford servicing requirements. Bodywork maintained and cleaned regularly to ensure no build up of road or weather residue accumulation.
