Expedition Limited 3.2L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 89,500 miles

This is the second time it has happened. Ford payed to fix the front hood. I opened the tailgate and noticed paint is bubbling at the bottom. This is not right. Now I have to fight with Ford to try and get this fixed. They should make this recall.

This is my second Expedition, last was a 2006 Eddie Bauer, this one a 2015 XLT. These are not cheap vehicles and I am stunned that Ford has been so neglectful of this problem for nearly 20 years now, just unbelievable! My last one had the same issue and I know from experience that repainting does not resolve the problem, I've been down this road before! Now with only 65000 miles I am going through it again, and I maintain my vehicles mechanically and interior or exterior like they're new! Always clean, always waxed, and ALWAYS GARAGED! Day or night, if my vehicle is not on the road, it is in the garage. I did a little math, and figured that with 65000 miles, if I drove half of that locally at approximately 40 mph, and the other half at 70 mph, my total time using the car would be roughly 1276.78 hours, or about 53.19 days. Pretty sh*tty, considering the vehicle cost me $53,257. I will certainly be starting a new battle with Ford, my Ford dealer, Gary Yeomans in Daytona Beach, Florida, and may soon be the new owner of another brand vehicle, never to spend a dime on Ford or recommend them (as I always did) ever again!

Expedition EL XLT 3.5L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 30,722 miles

I was in the process of buying this vehicle in FL. I saw the blistering on this vehicle: front edge of hood; then the car salesman said nearly all our expeditions have this going on. I inspected at least 10 other expeditions, and sure enough they had some type of blistering going on as well. He said it was due to being in Florida, but it was the first time I saw anything like this, especially on so new a car. Obviously, I liked the car, except for this; but surely a one-and-a-half year car should not have this going on so early in its life. Not sure whether to just let it take its course or should I have a body repair place nip it in the bud.
