This is in reference to Safety Recall 22S56. The recall talks about the possibility of the vehicle catching fire. I received the recall over a year ago and have contacted the dealer several times and they keep saying that a replacement part is on backorder and there's no timeline for when it'll be available. Meanwhile, I feel like my vehicle could potentially catch fire at any time. Are they allowed an unlimited amount of time to resolve the issue" I'm wondering if there's any recourse for me to get it fixed. Also, what if the vehicle catches fire before they get around to fixing it? Are they responsible for replacing the vehicle"

We own a 2016 Expedition King Ranch Edition which we purchased new in 2016. Last September we received a recall notice on the air conditioner blower motor. Three or four days after we received the notice, our blower motor failed. We took the car to Wichita Falls Ford in Wichita Falls, Tx, which is where we normally have it serviced. They did not have the recall replacement parts at that time, and so replaced it using the original parts that they were able to obtain. About six weeks later, that blower motor also failed. They told us they were no longer able to obtain the original parts and that the recall replacement parts were still not available. We use air conditioning year round here in Texas, but we were able to get through the winter without too much discomfort. However, seven months later and apparently parts are STILL not available. The car is pretty much useless to us for the foreseeable future, now that summer temps are upon us. Are we the only ones in this predicament? I ask because it doesn-??t seem to us to be a priority for Ford to come up with this part. I contacted Ford through online chat and email a couple of weeks ago to no avail.

3 times now, My 2016 ford expedition has randomly down shifted at high speed. first time truck down shifted to first gear and was stuck in first until I used the manual gear shift button. The second time truck downshifted from 6th gear to 4th gear on a freeway, and it was stuck in 4th gear. The engine was over revving, I had to use the manual shift button to get truck out of 4th gear. and off the freeway. Third time I was on a freeway driving at freeway speeds and it downshifted/lost power, I was nearly hit by a motor home coming up behind me and I luckily pulled off on the shoulder before being hit. Thankfully I did not have any of my 4 children in the vehicle. Once again, no warning lights or codes, just random downshift, The truck has also slammed into gear when it downshifts when I am on surface roads. That too, is random and intermitent The truck has become unsafe to drive. It has been inspected twice by AAMCO they have not found anything, no codes and could not replicate. I asked them to check the lead frame on the transmission. The truck is now at the ford Dealer, to see if they are able to find anything and replicate the issue. It has been completely random when it happens but extremely dangerous. The day I dropped off the truck at the dealer, there was a guy behind me who had the exact same issues on his ford truck. this could easily become a deadly issue if Ford does not remedy the problem. If the Dealer does not provide a solution I will sell the truck, it is not worth risking my family's life and safety.

2016 Ford Expedition el limited - manufactured in dearborn Michigan "yellow wrench" warning light came on the freeway and cut 100% of power to the motor, almost causing an accident. I had to traverse traffic to get to a safe area. Called a dealership and they said it was likely the throttle body. Ford implemented a voluntary recall for all other 2015 & 2016 models except the Expedition which is built on the exact same assembly line as the F150 and with the same defective part. Ford recall number was 16B32. I am paying $500 out of pocket since this item is not covered under warranty and my vehicle was not included in the recall. This issue is dangerous and could seriously hurt or kill someone. Ford has had a history of bad throttle bodies and the nhsta needs to have this issue formally recalled.

Around July 2018 my Expedition started just randomly cutting off while driving with my 2 children in the car. After getting the codes read it came up as the throttle body. We had the throttle body replaced and it seemed to help until about Nov 2018 then instead of cutting off while driving the car would jerk hard and then you could not accelerate over about 50mph. Multiple things started flashing on the dash like the wrench, traction control, hill descent, and check engine. We got all codes read and this time it was the map sensor. We have replaced the map sensor 2 times with the most recent in Jan 2019. Now the Expedition has started to again flash traction control, hill descent, wrench, check engine and the codes are reading map sensor again!! we have spent $200 on each sensor we have replaced which have been 3! we have another appointment at the end of Jan to find out again if it is the map sensor for a 3rd time or if it is some computer malfunction. We have no more warranty. Ford needs to look into this problem as I have read other complaints and it is definitely not safe when I'm driving with my kids and the car jerks and then you can no longer accelerate.
