The contact owns a 2017 Ford Expedition. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed with the brake pedal depressed all the way to the floorboard, the vehicle failed to stop. The contact was able to stop the vehicle by engaging the parking brake. After a visual inspection of the engine compartment, the contact observed that the brake fluid reservoir was empty. After refilling the brake fluid reservoir, the vehicle seemed to return to normal functionality, but the failure recurred the same day. The low brake fluid warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was towed to the dealer, who determined that the brake master cylinder was leaking brake fluid into the brake booster. The vehicle was not repaired. After investigating the failure, the contact related it to NHTSA Campaign Number: 22V150000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic) however, the VIN was not included.
