I have a NEW 2005 Ford Explorer that I purchased May 2005. The problem I have continued to have with this vehicle is the rear window/passenger side will not open unless you open the door and hit the door side panel. Sometimes that does not work either. The dealer said that the problem has been seen in several Ford SUV's that they have had to service. The dealership said there is no repair available for it.

I just had it serviced again July 17, 2010 and the problem still exist. As far as I am concerned this is a safety hazard for anyone riding in the back. After reviewing other websites I see that other people are having the same problem and nothing is being done about it. FORD stand up to the problem and have these vehicles recalled and the window problem resolved before someone needs to get out the window in an emergency and cannot. We do not need for someone to die from this when it could be taken care.

at 18000 miles one window got to where it would not want to roll up adn then just before warranty ran out the right front started the same thing..we had them both fixed at 35000 miles

I have a 2005 Explorer, bought from a dealer at 21,000. From the get go the rear windows both opened with difficulty--most often accompanied by a distinct "pop". I took it to the dealer, under warranty, and they said Ford's established fix for this know problem was to install additional rubber in the track to limit how far it went up in the track. It worked for awhile but eventually the problem resurfaced. After several adjustments they simply said "that's all we can do". Eventually the driver's rear simply stayed stuck in the up position. By now it was out of warranty (although I had the extended warranty). Ford said they would try something else, replacing a bunch of the internals--but would be charging me a $100 co-pay. I know, I know, that's not much but shouldn't Ford cover something that was never fixed? They said no--no--no.

My 2005 Ford Explorer rear driver's side window only works "rolls up and down" from time to time, usually 1 or 2 days out of a month it works. Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this?
