problem #3

Oct 112023

Explorer Limited

  • Automatic transmission
  • 60,000 miles

Engine loses power. Accelerator stops working. This happens at speed - suddenly and is very dangerous. We do not feel safe in this car. Going to dealer later this week.

Explorer

  • Automatic transmission
  • 63,000 miles

My son is traveling back to his home in Atlanta and along the way the wrench light comes on. He says the car will not respond to his acceleration and begins to shake. He has pulled over several times to turn the car off, let it sit, turns it back on and then continues on. Three times so far and he is still driving as I type. I see this complaint has been mentioned several times so clearly this is a defective issue. On a 2015 Explorer, this should not be happening.

Explorer Limited V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 96,580 miles

Second time driving home (5 days after first instance) and the wrench light came on while simultaneously the engine stopped. Just quiet, no acceleration. Coasted to safety. Turned off car, waited for 5 minutes. Tried to start car and it started fine, no wrench light. Read about this happening a lot with the 2016 Explorers.
