Explorer V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 70,000 miles

First my AC died.

Took it to one Mechanic and he quoted me over $1K.

I decided to go the dealership where I bought it. They told me the AC compressor died because of a water pump failure.

If you Google “Ford Explorer and water pump” you’ll see that several customers have had this happen with the risk of COMPLETE engine failure. And there are lawsuits against Ford for this bulls*!!

My car is not that old. Only 10,000 miles outside of its original warranty. This failure would’ve been more acceptable maybe another 5 years down the road. I’ve had a Toyota that lasted 2.5 times more than this piece of s* and it had no issues.

This is costing over $4K and not including the cost of a rental which is $40/day.

Ford is responsible for s* parts and lemon cars.

They should foot this bill for ALL Ford owners of relatively new vehicles.

Explorer 2.3L

I've had this car, 2017 Ford Explorer for less than 6 months. Paid over $20,000 for this car. My compressor goes bad. Great. I have a backyard mechanic that can fix anything and won't charge me an arm and a leg. Nothing but problems ordering this part. Can't find it anywhere!!!!! Even Ford automotives don't have it. "It's on back order" body shops want to charge me over $1000. I don't have that as well as my car payment. Of course, now Ohio is running 80-90°! My God!!!!

Shouldn't there be a recall on this? I've seen a lot of complaints on the internet. I regret buying this car. Should have went with a Chevy!
