The vehicle and its wheels with only 16,000 miles has deep cracks and cuts on the sides of the tread, threatening future breakage or explosion. As forementioned the vehicle undergoes regular maintenance as well tire rotation. There is no reason for the wheels to be this damaged with so little use. Upon inspection, it was discovered that pieces of the rubber tread had separated from the tire on both the front driver and passenger sides. The cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer was not notified. Veterans Ford (7201 linebaugh ave, tampa, fl) was informed of the failure. The dot number and VIN were unknown. The tire and vehicle failure mileage was 21,000.

The contact had an unknown Ford dealer contact the tire manufacturer on his behalf. The manufacturer informed the dealer that the vehicle had 40,000 miles, which exceeded the warranty coverage. The tires were included in NHTSA campaign number: 15T024000 (tires). The tire manufacturer had not responded back to the contact directly. The tire and vehicle failure mileage was 20,000.

TL the contact owns a 2017 Ford Explorer equipped with hankook ventus S1 noble 2 tires, size: 255/50R20. The contact noticed that the tire tread was separated on three tires. The vehicle was taken to crossroads Ford of kernersville, Inc (1330 nc-66, kernersville, nc 27284, 877-331-8058) where it was diagnosed that the tires had fractured. The tires were replaced. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate tire and vehicle failure mileage was 28,000. The dot number is 5mnc1ah2416 for the three tires.
