Explorer Sport 3.5L V6 Ecoboost

  • Automatic transmission
  • 36,946 miles

Vehicle started displaying warning messages for traction control, hill holder system, and the wrench light came on. When the wife tried to take it to the dealer, the traction control system locked the brakes down while driving. Luckily she was able to get it into a parking lot. What if this had happened at highway speeds in a bunch of traffic? It could have caused a serious wreck.

Had to have it towed to Ford across town. There is a tsb for this concern that requires the mass air flow / temp sensor be replaced. Total time for tsb is 0.3 hours. I get to pay full list for the part and two hours labor because it was 946 miles past warranty. I have been a Ford guy most of my life, even was a tech for twenty years. But the way I've been treated over this may change my car purchasing forever. At least I will never set foot back in the Bartlesville, OK Ford dealer!
