Apparently this model has a bad design for locks.

The driver's side front does not unlock with the key, the keypad, or the remote; it will only (reliably) unlock from the door-opener handle on the inside. If I fight with the lock from the outside by rapidly back-and-forthing the key, after 30-seconds of wrist-tiring vacillating I can usually "shake" the lock open.

The passenger-side door doesn't allow the key to turn at all. With no reliable locks to the cab, I now either risk locking myself out, or leave my cab unsecured. The tailgate lock doesn't allow the key to turn at all, unless I dose it with some WD-40, maybe. The WD-40 trick is not reliable enough to risk locking the tailgate anymore, so I now no longer have a secure bed.

The lock on the bed-cover no longer works on the passenger side; I have to open the tailgate (hope it's not frozen in the locked position) and use a small allen-wrench clamped in the jaws of some vice-grips to grab the lock mechanism and pull it to release it. I am really disappointed that Ford produced such apparently-faulty locks, and has done nothing about it. This is my first Ford; and will likely be my last.
