I've used silicone and WD40 on the door's switches with limited success and usually notice the problem in cold and damp weather actually starting a few years ago. I hear the relay under the driver's side when it finally decides to shut off. I'd suggest having the relay replaced but I'm too lazy to take it in to be fixed.

This has been a repetitive problem with this truck. The door ajar light and the dome light remain on for extended amount of time draining the battery and creating an annoying problem driving at night w/ the dome light on. Obviously a bad engineering job on the switch.

I had a problem with the interior dome light and the "door ajar" light staying on; the fix was to lubricate the door latches with just a few drops of regular oil.

this was a real annoying thing, and several ford garages could not figure out something as simple as this.

The door ajar light stays on, sometimes, which I can live with. The dome light and door lights stay on all the time, and stay on for about an hour after the engine is turned off. It has drained the battery more than once. The last time it happened was right after a car wash, but before that was intermittent.

dome,chime,wipers not working
This is a simple fatigue break from door use. Due to the manufacturer install with stress on wire leading to the flex point allowed wire to recive excessive strain to break the copper wire inside wire insulation. This makes for hard location of problem due to it not being viewable.
