F-150 XL 4.2L V6

  • Manual transmission

The front left brake caliper froze in the braking position, making it near impossible to drive anywhere. Had to pull into a gas station to remove the caliper and drive into town without brakes.

One of the pins that the caliper slides on froze up a few months before this and I believe the issue came from that.

If you're relatively good at fixing things yourself, just buy the brake caliper (there's probably a core charge so bring your bad one) and do it yourself, just remember to bleed the brakes after.
