Driving down my street the window just crashed down! it fell so fast and hard that I had to look to my right side to see what hit me! at that point I rear ended a car that slowed down! all this is do to a cheap plastic clip that failed and released the window.

I was driving my 2004 Ford F150 supercab down the street in my neighborhood on my way to work. I rolled up the power windows and heard a weird sound from the passenger door. I decided to roll it back down to see what was going on. As soon as I pressed the down button, the window just fell right into the door. It was a little frightening and could see how it could cause a wreck if it happened on the interstate. When I got to work, I got out to check it out. I could still hear the motor working, but I could hear pieces of glass and knew the window shattered.

I was driving on the interstate at 65 mph when all of a sudden my window disappeared startling me. I had my kids in the car who were frightened by the gush of wind. It surprised me and I was not certain what happened my window was just gone on the drivers side.the window had fallen into the door. Apparently after my research I learned that Ford has had many problems with its window regulators failing causing this issue. This is extremely dangerous and could cause a serious accident. I hope for before it is too late and harm is done that Ford will own up to this problem and have recall to repair the window mechanism that fails. If Ford does not do anything than NHTSA should.

This report is for the second failed window regulator for my 2004 Ford F-150 FX4 driver side. These repairs are costly and highly reported. This is a safety hazard especially if this would have occurred while the vehicle was in motion a the time of failure. Surprising little action has been taken on this issue...

I was traveling on a main boulevard when all of a sudden the drivers side window slid down with a loud sounding bang. The window did not break. However, what seems to be a spring loaded mechanism, must have broken causing the window to collapse down inside the door. The sound was so loud, it caused a nervous reaction in me which resulted in pulling on the steering wheel to one side. Thankfully, there were no vehicles to that side and I was able to correct my steering to get back into my lane. As if one experience was not sufficient, it happened again 9/1/11. This time on the passenger side door. The same exact experience repeated except that this time I was driving at 75mph on I-25. I expected to find a recall to this dis-functional mechanism. What are the chances of this happening almost back to back within a 6 week period?

While driving on the interstate the drivers side window, without warning, fell down into the door. I heard a popping sound and the window disappeared. I feel this is a safety issue because of the sudden distraction could have caused me to loose control of the vehicle. I looked at your web site and discovered this a common problem with this truck and believe Ford should be required to address the issue.

There are over 450 complaints listed here is mine I own a 2004 Ford F150 and have had 3 window regulator failures, 2 while driving. The dangerous one was on the drivers side at night during a rain storm. Ford dealer states he replaces 1-2 a week but is not yet a recall. He says it wont get a recall until someone dies. I think it is a known dangerous problem that Ford needs to take care of but wont until a recall is mandatory. Please recall this problem before "someone dies" and "only then" mandates a recall. Thank you for your time.
