Truck was bought and I replaced all spark plugs and even had to replace a clinoid because was told that was the problem. Its not... there is a ball valve in the transmission that keeps the truck from building enough pressure to be able to shift which throws a code and says misfire on 6 been replaced twice now so clearly not the problem. This is a major issue.. truck feels as if fixing to fie then check engine light will come on start flashing but throw no codes and you cant speed back up because it feels like your truck is about to die and you don't want to blow your motor.

I was issued a violation from Louisiana state police for following too closely. My belief is that the shuddering was the effect of the anti lock brakes activating. If I had not been in the right hand lane and able to pull off of the road, then an rear engine collision would more than likely occurred if I would have been in an outer lane of a multiple lane highway. After the third occasion this past week, I took the vehicle to the Ford dealership in rockwall, Texas where it cost me $700 to have throttle body/motor assembly replaced. My obd readings at home were P2104 and P2112. If not already, this issue is a fatally waiting to happen. Lots of chatter on internet of similar issues.

I was driving on a residential street (gray St. )approaching a busy two lane street that was one way heading South (armenia avenue) in tampa, Florida. As I was approaching the stop sign, my foot was on the brake. Preparing to stop, but instead of stopping the engine revved and accelerated into the lanes of traffic traveling South. I was standing on the brake so hard that my leg was shaking when I finally stopped. I stopped the vehicle by depressing the emergency brake and the RPM's finally came down and the engine returned to normal. I was so nervous because if there had been cars coming I would have been hit on the driver's side. The street is usually very heavy with traffic. I was very lucky that there was no one close or I may not be writing this today. A few days later I came to the same corner and a bicyclist crossed right in front of me. If this had happened on April 12th, I would have run over the bicyclist. I drove around the block very slowly continuing to stop and RPM's were normal. I really thought everyone would think I was crazy for what had just happened. When the Ford dealership found the problem on the computer I was relieved to know that there was a problem that could be fixed. It was the throttle body. A month later our other Ford F-150, a 2007, had the same problem and this time my husband was driving it. There was a report on this vehicle also. Ford is not recognizing that there is a problem and other vehicles are being brought in for the same issues which could result in serious injury or fatalities to innocent parties due to some defect in the throttle body's on the F-150's. my report number on our 2007 F-150 is 10459967.

The vehicle was not driven during the winter, only the summer and the contact had experienced the failure for two consequent years. An engineer was sent by the manufacturer to install a vehicle registration mark (vrm) in the vehicle to monitor the failure but to no avail. The vrm was removed and the failure recurred shortly afterward. The failure mileage was unknown, but the current mileage was 53,000. Warning light: Engine fail safe on I was forced to coast to a stop and turn off the vehicle. I restarted the vehicle clearing the warning and continued on. I took the vehicle to a local Ford dealer where it was determined I needed to replace the throttle body and throttle position sensor.

The brake lights stopped working and the speed control brake pedal disconnect stopped working. Speed control disconnect was achieved by using the steering wheel control but if the stopping situation had been an emergency one, an accident could have resulted as there was about a 1.5 second delay for me to figure out what was going on and correct the situation. While traveling at 70mph on I-10 with the speed control engaged, I went to exit the highway to get fuel and while depressing the brake pedal to reduce speed, the speed control began attempting to resume the original 70mph speed by revving the engine. Later I determined that the alternator on the vehicle had failed and while the battery had enough voltage to keep the engine running and the voltage gauge had not moved yet, the battery did not have a full 12.5V output. When the brake pedal sensor does not have a full charging voltage input, it seems to stop working. Therefore, the speed control disconnect failed and the brake lights failed to activate even though the motor and other components continued functioning normally. It seems that the brake pedal sensor is very voltage dependent (which was not the case on other vehicles I have owned). I notified Ford of the situation after the incident occurred and have received nothing in response. I got rid of the vehicle and purchased a different one as I believe it is not safe and could result in traffic tickets/accidents (no brake lights) and speed control disconnect failures (accidents) if there are voltage fluctuations in the electrical system.

My 2005 Ford F150 loses the ability to use the gas throttle. I can still steer and the engine, lights, air conditioning system, and brake system still work. The has happened about two dozen times starting in Oct 2010 and still occurring as of December 2011. I have had to swerve across freeway lanes on several occasions. The wrench sign comes on in the dash. I am able to shut the vehicle off and it turns right back on. The wrench goes away but the check engine light stays on. It really scares me because I visit the mountains in the winter and I am afraid this will happen on the way to the mountain and kill me or my family. I have heard numerous complaints online about this issue and it needs to be fixed.
