F-150 FX 2 Sport 5.4L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 70,000 miles

I purchased my 2007 F150 FX2 with a Mark LT trim and with approximately 70,000 miles with an extended warranty. Approximately, couple months after purchase the throttle control had to be replaced under the warranty. Months later, I began hearing a distinctive tapping sound from the passenger side of the engine compartment. I changed oil regularly every 3,000 miles 5W20. I tried heavier weight 5W30, however, tapping declined but continued. At the dealership, the techs stated that it was normal. Also, during driving the truck misfires in cylinder #2 and multiple misfires while in cruise control and while demanding more power. I purchased a OBD II scanner to test in see if it might be the fuel pump.

Vehicle stalls also. As of this date the vehicle has 170,000 miles. I'm still searching for a possible solution without spending out thousands of bucks.

F-150 XLT 5.4L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 45,000 miles

Well picking an optiopn out of the list was hard. It has happened so many times. It all started about 45k engine misfire. I thought my transmission was going out. Then i got the code read and begain my rediclous journey with my *&^$ truck. I have relpaced them all twice. Oh yeah spark plugs, they have a tendency to stick in the head. That was 540$ spark plug change, what a joke. I can usually change my own plugs, now im paying that. Wow....... Dont know what else to say, except sorry to everone who had trouble early on in the milage. I have 190k now with a new transmission and flywheel. Yes flywheel... Ive always owned ford, all three....:) never again.......
