Two blocks from my residence, I experienced a loud 'boom', tread separation and damage to my right rear quarter panel, fender braces and my exhaust pipe. The tire in question is a goodrich T/a km lt 285/75R/16/122/119/D M + S mud tire. This is a load range D tire with a max of 65 psi. I use 50 psi. The tires were purchased in 2007/2008, and mounted on separate rims. The original equipment and the mud terrain tires were exchanged often.my truck has approximately 40K total miles. If the driving on each tire were divided evenly, each tire would only have 18K miles, at the time of the tire failure. The tires were rotated often. Inflation was checked every week. I chose not to use the road hazard warranty to replace the tire. As it happened on a newly rebuilt street.this tire has a 3 ply side wall and a 5 ply tread. This type of tread separation should not happen. I want goodrich to replace all tires, because I'm afraid to use them. Had this failure happened at highway speed, results could be worse. I have tried to reason with goodrich consumer representatives, to no avail. The tires 'were too old', based on the dot number. Sears wants to only replace 1 tire. I believe the set to be dangerous. The original 2001 tires are very serviceable. I noticed some 59 complaints on 'Consumer Affairs' for B. F. goodrich off-road tires. My complaint will make 60. The ones reported to your Agency numbered in the 70's some the complaints reported serious injury with this type of tire. Their link is: Https://www.consumeraffairs.com/brands/support/. I would hope that you review the complaints, and ask B. F. goodrich to be a responsible corporation, file a voluntary recall and replace suspect tires; at no cost to the consumer. Please inform me of the results of your investigations, along with any recommendations made to goodrich. Thank you.

My third uniroyal liberator tire has failed in the same manner as the two before. This is my third complaint concerning these defective tires. These tires all failed in the same exact manner (tread/tire separation) and all within weeks or months of each other. The tread pulled loose from the carcass, causing a bump-imbalance. I recognized the failure and was able to drive home where I changed to a spare. I later replaced this tire. This tire only have about 37,000 miles. Walmart, where I purchased the tires, refuses to give any type of warranty or tire credit and no longer carry this tire. This tire had plenty of tread and was well within its life span. This liberator tire should be recalled and pulled off the market because of its consistent failure rate. I have sent complaints to uniroyal with no response. Please have a recall before someone gets killed or injured. These things are junk.

Purchased 4 Goodyear lt30570R16 tires at Goodyear dealer in arcadia, fl to replace original equipment firestones to avoid tire problem. Goodyear dealer assured us that larger tire would be adequate and safe for our needs even though we expressed concerns. Continued with travels and in 6/2001 upon crossing the us/Canada border on the dirt and gravel road known as 'the top of the world highway' going 25mph towing a 5th wheel the left rear tire split in two crossways. I had to dig a hole in the road and with the help of a friend managed to get the tire changed. This was a very dangerous situation as there was a 1,000 ft drop off of a very narrow road with additional motor vehicles passing due to the us custom's station having just opened for the day. Returned tire to Goodyear dealer in fairbanks, ak on 6/26/01. Goodyear replaced the damaged tire and we were forced to purchase a second tire, $243, to have matching tires on the rear of the vehicle. (LT305/70R16 Wrangler mtr). Second incident in Colorado heading North on I-70, 2 miles from the Colorado city exit. Traveling at 60mph down a very steep winding portion of the highway the tire began thumping and the tread separated, but the tire remained inflated. Managed to pull off the side of the highway and was able to change tire. Again, a very dangerous situation at sunset with semis coming around the downhill curve at 75mph. With god's grace we were on a very wide portion of pull off and managed to get the tire changed without incident. The truck sustained damage to the right front fender and door estimated at $1,300. I feel very angry that I have had to endure 2 incidences such as this. There are many reports of this same occurrance with the Wrangler tires. I feel that I am just a part of a 'calculated risk' by Goodyear. I now have another Wrangler at/S tire that is bulging. I am told that I must replace.
