The contact owns a 2002 Ford F250. The contact was driving approximately 70 mph. When pressure was applied to the accelerator pedal there was no power response. The RPM decreased to an idle speed. The driver pulled over to the side of the road. The engine was turned off. There was a waiting period of a few seconds before the positive cable was removed and then reconnected to the battery. The vehicle resumed to normal operation. The identical failure occurred again and the battery cable was adjusted. The authorized dealer was notified. There was not a safety recall on the vehicle. The vehicle has not been repaired for the malfunction. The failure and current mileages were 54,009. Updated 05/10/10 updated 05/10/10
