This is the SECOND time that I've had to shell out $2,000+ to replace the brakes on my F-250. Apparently Ford has decided and designed these trucks to have calipers and rotors that are intended to fail and be replaced. Seems to me, the SMART thing is to have brakes that all you need to replace are the pads. Anyhow, I know from other forums that this is not just an isolated issue and that the brake systems on all "Super Doodies" are crap. When will this actually become a class action complaint??!!

F-250 XL 3.4L V8

  • Automatic transmission
  • 4,000 miles

Front left wheel was smoking hot, due to brake dragging and pulling to left while brakes were applied. Took to dealer, initially stated it was simply pads sticking, they took them apart (both front calipers and freed-up everything). All original equipment was put back on. Upon leaving truck still pulled to left, brought in back again. This time they said the left front caliper was overheated, and the piston was frozen. They replaced caliper with new unit -warranty covered. Now truck pulls to right upon brake application, -although not as severely as left pull was. They said to bring it back again... We'll see what happens...
