Ford F-250 Super Duty king ranch (2010) with a 6.4 powerstroke engine. The 3rd cylinder blew up and the piston came apart and scarred the cylinder wall up. This is supposedly a known issue with the new emissions equipment that was added to the vehicle to force diesels to have to pass smog. This issue should have been addressed by Ford when it started happening to avoid people having to replace their engines at a cost of $20K.

Driving on expressway in Georgia vehicle shut down approximately 90 miles after getting gas. Towed vehicle to Ford dealer who said there was gas in the diesel fuel tank which resulted in blown engine. State farm was called, after about 2 weeks they took samples and claimed there was no evidence of gas. They claimed there were issues with the engine (6.4 Super Duty Ford) in the past. We put 20,000 into the truck to have the engine replaced. Now we are wondering if this could happen again.

Traveling on I-15 freeway in southern California, going 70 mph on cruise. Head a loud "bang", pulled over and saw damage to underside of vehicle and fluids leaking. Transfer case appeared to be split open. Towed to mojave Ford dealership in barstow California, where repairs were made. Description of findings is attached below. Problem seems to have originated in the 4WD system. Truck was in 2wd in the cab, however vacuum hubs were in 4WD. Mechanic stated that this is a problem with Ford trucks. No recall on file. Post repair, the truck still stays in 4WD when reverting to 2wd from the cab. Operator is required to manually put hubs into 2wd.

Since I have owned this truck from 2010 to current I have had problems with the exhaust manifolds and a transmission overflow relief valve. The exhaust manifolds keep popping the studs which allows fumes inside the truck upon a $2000 bill every time... this issue could cause the whole exhaust system to fall right out from under the truck while driving. The other issue is the trans overflow....everytime it happens it spits the fluid out all over the exhaust which causes a fire everytime. I have been reporting these problems since I have purchased the truck.these problems need to be adressed before someone gets hurt or worse.

When inspecting the vehicle, the contact noticed that the rubber bushing (a protective layer) between the cab and the frame underneath the cab had completely rotted out and was causing the metal in the area to touch. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and opened a case on the vehicle. The VIN was unknown. The approximate failure mileage was 91,000. Radiator leak and exhaust manifold bolts. I just bought a used Ford F250 diesel FX4 lariat. Nice truck but nothing but problems so far. It had 128K on it. Just noticed today that every time I fill the resivoir it leaks out. Looks like the radiator leaking where the plastic and aluminum meet. Over a thousand installed. Then the whine that was supposed to be a belt ended up being broke off exhaust bolts on manifold. 16 hrs at $1300 plus parts maybe another $130. Not happy with this Ford at all. Sad that's what my last four vehicles were.
