My radio at 36,190 miles started acting up. At first it would take awhile to load up. over the course of a couple of weeks it would get slower and slower at coming on till now when it will not come on at all. With my truck just over the 36,000 mile mark the dealership will not warranty it. When I took it in they acted just like they did on the death wobble issue. Acted as if I was the first person ever to report this issue. But while waiting on a service advisor the guy answering the phones took 3 calls in 20 minutes with people having similar issues. I can not stand people who lie and try to make you think your the only one having issues. These service advisors should go online and read the issues so they are better prepared in their speeches to you.
Needless to say they wanted $89.99 to do a diagnostics check on the APIM unit. Then told me it needed to be replaced that I would have to schedule an appointment the following week to remove the dash to get the number off the APIM unit which will run me $250.00 for labor and would have to leave my truck 24 to 48 hours.. Then pay them the $1100.00 for the APIM unit up front. Then they could place the order for the replacement and by the way Ford is back ordered on these units so I am looking at 6 weeks to 18 weeks on getting a replacement. Strange that they are back ordered if I am the only one having an issue. And then it will cost me another $250.00 labor and 24 to 48 hours without my truck again when it comes in. So I ordered a replacement myself online took 3 days to get here and 20 minutes to install and even upgraded to Ford Navigation System cheaper than Ford factory cheap replacement.
