The contact owns a 2012 Ford F-350. The contact stated while driving 70 MPH, the vehicle lost motive power and the vehicle was smoking. Additionally, the contact noticed a clinging sound coming from the engine compartment. The contact stated that an 18-wheeler that was driving behind the vehicle, almost crashed into the rear of the vehicle. The contact was able to get the vehicle to the shoulder of the road safely and exited the vehicle. The contact stated the vehicle was engulfed with heavy smoke, but a fire was not present. The contact was concerned for her safety. The vehicle was towed to the dealer where it was diagnosed with a failed fuel system. The contact was informed that the fuel system needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and a case was filed. The failure mileage was approximately 116,000.
