I needed to accelerate to get around a semi in heavy traffic, when my engine went into limp mode, forcing me to a complete stop on Interstate 44. I almost ended up completely stopped on a bridge, with no shoulder, ON A PACKED INTERSTATE WITH SEMIS TRAVELING AT 70 MILES PER HOUR!!!!! THIS FEATURE COULD HAVE GOTTEN ME AND OTHER PEOPLE KILLED, AND IT WILL EVENTUALLY KILL PEOPLE IF IT HASN'T ALREADY!
WHAT A STUPID IDEA TO ENGINEER A TRUCK THIS WAY!!! YOU ARE GOING TO KILL SOMEBODY!!!!
FORD'S FEATURE DEFINITELY ENDANGERED MY LIFE TODAY!!!!!!
It happened once before 20,000 miles ago when I was towing my back hoe. The engine slowly downshifts until the truck is nearly stopped, and then the engine shuts itself off. The truck then instructs the driver to shift into park. Only then can the truck can then be restarted.
