I noticed a leak under my vehicle and discovered the air conditioner compressor leaking. I am preparing to take it to the dealer for repairs. I am aware that the same problems exist on numerous 2005 and 2006 models. I hope that Ford will take some action to assist the many customers with the same problem. I believe a recall is required!

The contact owns a 2006 Ford Five hundred. The contact stated that the air conditioning unit failed and would not blow cold air. The vehicle was taken to a local mechanic who added coolant to the air conditioning system but the failure was not corrected. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 70,000 and the current mileage was 100,000.

Ac air blows cold when you are doing 60 mph on the highway... around town it is hot!!! dealer recharged the system, but still have the same problem. Now being told it is the compressor. So many people are having the same problem with the A/C in Ford Five hundreds. This really needs to be looked into please! old ODI id number : 10414022

Air conditioning unit started making noises last year (approx. August). Took it to the dealership and they told me the compressor was going. They also said there are so many problems with that compressor that they would not be able to get one until February.
