Five Hundred SEL 3.0L V6

  • CVT transmission
  • 78,000 miles

Will be hesitant to ever buy another Ford product....the Ford 500 I own lunges forward when putting it into gear; either reverse or drive. This has almost caused me to have numerous accidents. I've listed other problems I've had with this vehicle in the other categories; long story short; I would never consider buying this vehicle.

  • 70,000 miles

When I back in or out of my drive way I have to be careful to keep one foot on the brake when shifting into Reverse the vehicle lunges into gear and causes quick acceleration. I notice the problem is getting worse it is starting to lung forward when shifting into Drive as well.

WHEN YOU'RE PUTTING IN GEAR, IT LUNGES FORWARD, SO YOU HAVE TO HAVE YOUR BRAKES ON, TO BE ON THE SAFE SIDE. IS THERE A SOLUTION OR HAS THIS BEEN A RECALL ISSUE!

Five Hundred Limited

  • Automatic transmission
  • 65,000 miles

We have always bought Fords in our 34 yr marriage. I am so disgusted that I have read so many complaints about the same problem of lunging when putting into gear and

Ford will not do anything about it. It is very dangerous and is obviously a problem to hundreds if not thousands of Ford 500 owners.
