The contact owns a 2013 Ford Flex. The contact stated that while his brother was driving at a very low speed and attempting to make right or left turns, the vehicle loss motive power. The contact stated that the failure was not evident while driving straight. The vehicle was taken to muscatell-burns Ford (901 us-10, hawley, mn 56549) to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that the rack and pinion needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact referenced the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 15V340000 (steering) however, the VIN was not included. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and offered no assistance. The failure mileage was approximately 100,000. The consumer traded in the vehicle due to the defect.
