I took my car to my brother and he looked at brakes. He said they were still good. He thinks it is the material Ford uses that make them squeal. I don't want to have to pay for new brakes now but the noise is almost unbearable!

My son works at a brake shop and I have repaired and replaced the brakes already. The car is 5 years old with 35k miles. My son says they can not fix the problem. He said that Ford says the problem is in the rear end design, something about it being too light. I love the look, style, and size, basically everything about the car except the squealing brakes, so I can not say I would never buy another, that is if they actually made the car for USA sales again. I found out that they will be making it in 2012 but not for sale in USA. So I guess they did lose a future customer.

As soon as I drove my car off the lot the brakes started squeaking. I have had them replaced over and over. Ford charged a bundle and kept my car 3 days to do a simple brake job that they said would fix the problem and when I picked up my car the brakes were as loud as ever. They assured me that that was normal - though that was why they recommended I got them replaced. I have had other mechanics also replace them and it just won't go away. It is really embarrassing how loud they are. I know other who have a ford focus and the same problem. I really believe that a recall is needed. I will never buy from ford again. They have horrible product and service.

The brakes on the Ford Focus squeal every time the driver presses the brake pedal. Ithis People turn around for blocks to see where the noise is coming from. You can see the car in front of you moving up as the driver of that car believes you can't stop and will hit them. I'm tired of taking the car back to the dealership and now it is no longer under warranty. Ford should do a recall on this problem. I will never buy another Ford product.
