Focus SE Sedan 2.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 18,739 miles

Purchased a new 2008 Ford Focus in June of 2008. I am a retired person so the car doesn't get driven your normal monday - friday , as such it doesn't get the miles or the use on it. So as of May -June 2012 it only has 30,157km on it. KM not Miles.

The Front end was making some noise so being as it was out of the bumper to bumper warranty I took it into MY mechanic who is quite good and very trustworthy. He showed me the Sway Bar Link on the 1 side and said the knuckles or ball in them go and Many Focus' have the same problem. So he said he replaced them with a better one that had a grease able fitting on them as well.

I have pretty good roads around me not a lot of bumps and the car hasn't been subjected to any hot-rod crazy cornering or major bumps, I slow down for Train tracks & straddle man hole covers. @ only 30,000km THAT IS TOTALLY RIDICULOUS. But as the mechanic said...most Focus's have this problem. After I had bought this car within a year i saw Suspension issues as the big problem...and i thought NAH that won't be my car...They are prob just unlucky or bad drivers and abuse the car. Well I am on the List of Suspension problems THIS SHOULD BE #30 now on teh Suspension complaints.

I would have added my VIN # but i don't know how i like the idea of that being on the internet. If Ford wants to contact me they can through this site. I doubt it tho.

Back when I bought this Ford was supposed to have been back on Track as Alan R. Mulally was named the President and CEO of Ford Motor Company on September 5, 2006. Guess not then eh. ON the Brake section of CarComplaints.Com...Ill be adding that Story right after I post this...they went at the same time ..Mechanic said they didn't get used enough...wow.

In my opinion, this is a design flaw that happens when you use cheap parts to build a "quality" car. In the long run the stabilizer links were replaced 4 times and in the end they replaced the struts on the front end as well. Will this be the end...I don't know. I'm just going to pick up my car as I type. Ford doesn't see this as their problem and are trying to stick me with a bill for this and several other repeating problems.

Focus SES 2.0L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 24,000 miles

I just purchased this vehicle used about 500 miles ago and just noticed this issue. When the steering wheel is turned sharply and/or traveling over a dip in the road/bump the "POP" shows up. Even when cutting the wheel to back into a parking spot. The dealer will check this out in a day or two-hopefully this is nothing major since I had the dealer align the vehicle just prior to purchase.
