Car stalled at an intersection, was able to restart, drove it home 10 miles away and car would not turn off, everything turned off but engine continued running. Drove it to Ford dealership and dropped off. Several days later dealership contacted me and were unable to start vehicle so they started investigating. They found several of the electrical connections with blue corrosion and were able to trace it to the windshield washer pump being over pressurized and sending fluid through the wiring harness. So far the fix is a new harness and ECU. Right now the dealership is quoting me $3000 and no help from corporate. Car still needs to be checked and possibly fixed for transmission recalls as well. Beware of washer pump. Will fix and sell ASAP.

We parked the car and the engine would not shut off . We even swapped using spare key in case key fob issue . Searched internet to see if any ideas while the car ran . Eventually looking at fuse list we decided to pull the fuel pump fuse under glove box and about a min or so later the engine died. Reinstalled fuse and everything opersted as usual. Called dealer and no safety or tech bulletins of course they said they could diagnose . Not . Probably spend money and not repeat .to me it is a safety concern so will report it to transport canada

I have had really no complaints about my 2012 Ford Focus until now. The technology on the car was always kind of weird. The Sync system sometimes didn't want to Sync with my phone. Sometimes it would just turn off sponteneously while driving. Little odd things. But I never considered them a problem. But about a month ago, my car started acting possessed. One time, I got out of the car and turned it off (I thought I did, anyway) and my coworker walked by the car a few hours later and it was running. She reached in and turned it off for me. Crazy. I wrote it off to me being absent minded. Another time, I put my purse on the passenger seat, and then shut the door, and walked over to the drivers seat to get in...but when I touched the door handle to open it, the car LOCKED. From the inside. It locked me out of my own car. Spontaneously.

But what happened yesterday takes the cake. I had noticed that the car was having difficulty starting up. So I had scheduled a mechanic appointment for Monday. But it was driving fine, no check engine lights or anything like that. Anyway, I went to an appointment and when I went to get out of the car and turn it off, it just wouldn't shut off. At ALL. I tried driving around the block. Shifting gears. Pushing and holding the button. Nothing worked. Ultimately, I ended up stalling the car out in fourth gear and disconnecting the battery so that it would not run itself out of gas. It is at the mechanics now, but when I told them what the problem is, they looked at me like I had grown another head.

I am glad to know that I am not the only one who has experienced this problem, but I am interested to know what the solution is.
