Focus SE 1.0L Turbo

  • Automatic transmission
  • 115,421 miles

This is not the first time I’ve had this issue. The first time was at 64000 miles when my car sounded like a farm tractor. Low oil pressure light came on right after an oil change, so I took it to the dealership. The engine was starved of oil but the oil in the engine was full, but since I was past warranty I had to come out of pocket. This was 3 years ago. NOW on my way home from work low oil pressure light came BACK on. Keep in mind I am very good at keeping up with maintenance on my car. Sounds exactly like it did 3 years ago. I will never forget the sound. I’m literally sick to my stomach that Ford is doing nothing about this and I WORK FOR THE COMPANY AT KENTUCKY TRUCK PLANT. This company is a joke.

Focus RS 2.3L V4

  • Manual transmission
  • 2,221 miles

Bought a 17 Ford focus RS from Ford of Queens Blvd on 02/23/19 with 86 miles on the car. Took it to ford service of Queens blvd on 04/05/19 for oil leak in engine. They stated that they fixed the problem. A month later the car shows white smoke coming out of the exhaust while idling and dies on me within 5 mins while driving with my 13 year old in the car. Took it to the same Ford dealer and waited for a response. After a few days of no response I walked into the service department and after an hour of waiting they tell me its going to cost me $7498 to replace my engine. When I asked they stated that the vehicle had modifications on it. I showed them that the "modifications" were all covered by ford limited warranty because all parts are listed in the ford performance catalogue. Since then they have changed their statement more than once and have not given me a reason to the cause of the engine failure. The dealership stated that Ford motor co has to make a decision and will let me know of the next step. Spoke to Ford Customer Relations and they stated that all they can do is file a complaint against the dealership and that's it. BTW I did let the dealership know that I am aware of the head gasket issue and my vehicle came off the production line on 12/23/2016. (Same time period with the faulty head gasket issue) I still have no resolution to my problem and now have to dish out $7k+ to fix my car. I love the focus RS but hate ford for not knowing what the hell they are doing in the performance hot hatch market. They need to take a page from Subaru. If a problem with your product exist and is known, they fix it regardless of outside factors.
