My 2005 ford freestyle all the lights in interior started flashing then nothing no mileage, no interior car started to chugging only five minutes from work. Made it to work then nothing. Put new battery in it seemed fine. three days later same thing only headlights won't shut off. Had to unhook the battery. Sitting at the side of the road for now. Not sure what to do already had one tow bill this week.

I had owned my car for 8 years. I had problems with it lunging forward. Took it to the ford shop for them to fix. The air conditioner inside the car would just go out while driving the car. The mechanic said that it was the compressor, and he fixed it about a year before my car burned. I did not have any more problems with the air conditioner just stopping for no reason during that time until my car burned.

I would not recommend anyone buying this car. I had my grand children in the car with me. It could have caught fire while we were driving down the road to the post office. God's blessings were with us that day.

Alternator Failed, Battery completely drained and car cut out. This necessitated a tow home $140 and a Mechanic visit . Jump started car and on removal of jump cables Engine ran 5 minutes and failed.

Restarted car with jump leads. Voltage at battery below 10 v. Engine again died.

New battery fitted Engine started and after a few minutes voltage observed to be dropping.

Alternator disconnected and engine started No warning light. Alternator checked and found burnt out.

Replacement Alternator fitted. Engine restarted and Voltage back up to 13 volts.

Contacted local Ford Dealer who was not helpful ( We haven't heard that one before) Took car to dealer who did diagnostic check no fault found, despite when disconnecting Alternator the charge warning light stays off. Was going to buy an F150 but due lack of help from Ford will buy a GM Sierra or Dodge Ram.
