On April 9, 2018, my vehicle went head on into a giant oak tree. The speed has yet to be determined as the adjustors and the police are looking at the vehicle and trying to see if the black box can determine the speed. They estimated that the speed had to have been over 50mph due to the damage of the vehicle. The car hit the tree straight on. The air bag did not deploy. The car had been inspected with a sticker in February. I was the only one in the car and don't remember what happened (no drugs or alcohol in my system; also verified by the hospital). The floorboard and dashboard crushed into my chest breaking my sternum, multiple ribs, collarbone, punctured a lung, and my femur on my right leg crushed through the dashboard shattering so bad, about three inches of bone was found in the street. The engine apparently slid into my lap pinning me back and the rib that poked my lung was what saved me for the time being because just enough air was released to form a cushion so there would be no internal bleeding. My face hit the steering wheel only quickly causing a laceration over my eye and on my lip. That must have been before the engine pinned me back. I broke my entire right leg, right foot, right heel, right hand, and ended up with a giant slice down my stomach from the ER doctors to make sure I wasn't bleeding internally. I was medi flighted to the hospital, no blood pressure, destroyed everywhere, and now I'm left with a walker, visiting nurses, a scar from the top of my thigh to my ankle, with more surgery to come and only the possibility that I'll be able to walk like I did before.
