Summer in Arizona IS NOT the time to have your a/c fail. It did on my Fusion. I brought it in for repair at a shop I used to use and they traced the problem to the a/c wiring harness that was replaced by a FMC supplied replacement.

Less than a month later, it again failed. Covered under warranty by the shop, they did a little more digging and found (I don't know what they did to further research the problem) and ended up installing a thicker, better grade wiring harness that has been trouble-free since the second inconvenient need to be without the car for a day or more.

I don't know if there was a potential fire hazard or just the inconvenience of not have a/c in an Arizona mid-summer day but having to deal with the problem in the first place and then having to again in a relatively short period of time have to deal with it again was certainly not a fun set of days.
