Car just loses power while driving, mash the gas and nothing. It didn't shut off completely but definitely not hitting on all cylinders. Turn it off and crank it back up, and it runs fine. Definitely not safe.

they fixed canister purge valve on a recall and said it was cracked and could happen again and it has happened again. now will have to see if they will fix it for free again, am guessing they won't. they had a recall and fixed cannister purge valve but now. so dangerous to have my car completely stop and wonder if someone will be killed? is $ worth a life?

The car is running just like it should and then the car loses power. gas pedal does not work. have to pull over and stop. Car is still running but like on 1 cylinder. Turn off car. then restart car and runs just like there was nothing wrong. Now it does it once or twice a day. No engine light on after restarting. Battery is 6 months old had some stuff on one of the battery terminals. Cleaned and reattached to post. Problem is still ongoing. Can't take by the shop. The problem will not happen when I go by. Any Ideas Please

Update from Feb 2, 2017: Took the fusion to my mechanic. He said it was the throttle body that is bad. He said that I could pay him 300+ dollars to fix it or take it to the dealership to get it done for free. Seems Ford has a 20 YEAR WARRANTY on the part but not a recall on the part. If you take the fusion to the dealership first you better hope that they don't fix the problem and charge you knowing that the part is under warranty. The more you know!!!

Fusion 3.2L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 41,000 miles

This problem started happening recently that electrical failure arising very frequently. On this electrical failure: No head lights can be turned on, No right or left turn signal indicators, No A/C, No Musics radio.

Transmission should not be set to Parking, if set to parking mode then it cannot changed to position neutral or driving. it is stuck. Towing the vehicle is the only option.
